Stitched Shibori and Indigo Dyeing with Sandy Shelenberger

Learn to create patterns on fabric by choosing from a variety of stitching patterns rooted in Japanese Shibori. Then dye the fabric in an indigo dye vat.

To bring: scissors, embroidery needles, may bring extra cloth (cotton, linen, rayon, or silk)

Date: Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00am to 3:00pm (handstiching) and Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm (dyeing)

Class Fee: $60 plus a supply fee of $20 which includes 1yd of cotton fabric, thread, and use of the indigo dye vat

Watercolor Bouquet

Summer 2022 (Inquire about dates) – $15
Children of all ages can paint a dozen colorful paper flowers with liquid watercolor

Potholder Weaving Classes

Saturday July 30th from 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Children will learn on a Harrisville designed potholder loom and will go home with 1 potholder.

Running Stitch Napkins by Gist Yarns

Friday, July 22nd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, August 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

In this class you will learn to make napkins out of Gist yarn. Bring home 3 to 4 beautiful plain weave napkins.

*Class is free with the purchase of 2 yarns
*You must bring your own Rigid Heddle Loom with a 12 or 12.5 dent reed.

Braided Terry Towel Rug Workshop

Made from large bath sheets. Please bring scissors and for the first run buy the “cheap towels called bath sheets (they are longer than bath towels). Please cut off the ends with the decorative design, This will reduce cutting time.

About Our Studio

Our Studio is licensed for 15 people including teachers, however due to social distancing we are taking class size to as low a number possible (one child-one teacher) or (two siblings-one teacher).
Our goal is to nurture artistic creativity while having fun.

Joanne Burns

Joanne Burns was trained by her mother at an early age. Her mom was an amazing artist and taught her knitting, sewing and ceramics. Needless to say, artistry and craftsmanship is in her DNA. Most importantly, she inherited the love for creativity and teaching. She is excited to impart this love for creativity and teaching through her studio.
